"If you’re a fan of Tower Defense games, do yourself a huge favor and check out TowerMadness." There are plenty of tower defense strategy games out there, but TowerMadness brings the genre to a new level." The most downloaded 3D tower defense strategy game on the iPhone has been enhanced for the iPad and includes split-screen multiplayer! Winner of the prestigious Pocket Gamer Readers' Choice iPad Game of the Year Award!Įvil aliens are coming to turn your beloved sheep into intergalactic scarves! Protect the flock using only quick thinking and the arsenal of upgradeable weaponry at your disposal. It just means that it's tougher to recommend, and thus a little more forgettable than it should have been. The classic iOS game that started it all, TowerMadness is back and better than ever with iOS 11 and iPhone X support! That TowerMadness 2 fails to do this doesn't mean that it's a bad game. The perverse thing is that if this sequel had stuck with a similarly old fashioned payment model, it would have felt quite refreshing amidst all the irritatingly grabby IAP-fests we see today. Even the first game in the series, which was launched way back in 2009, felt very familiar at the time. The truth is that TowerMadness 2, despite its name, is a very straightforward tower defence game. Of course, you can unlock the ability to double the amount of wool you earn in each round, but at a cost of another £1.99. It's annoying, for example, that you have to purchase additional tower slots, or else commit to grinding for wool (the game's currency, which can of course be bought with YOUR currency).įor those who don't want to pay, it adversely affects your enjoyment of the game, as fewer towers means fewer options and less tactical scope. This is a game that costs £1.99 to purchase, but is structured to strongly encourage further payments. TowerMadness 2's biggest issue, aside from a general lack of originality, is its IAP system. The game also balances its cheeky humour well with stages that will seriously challenge your forward-planning abilities, mixing things up just enough to keep you moving on. Watching your last-ditch ram defence sending a whole line of aliens packing is also a treat. TowerMadness 2 has a couple of neat touches of its own, too, such as the environmental effects that the second and third worlds have on your towers (overheating and icing up respectively). Its chunky graphics aren't immediately impressive, but when you start zooming in and out with dozens of attacking units on screen at the same time with nary a hint of stutter (even on our 'old' iPad 3) you'll realise the strength of the engine. TowerMadness 2 might be unoriginal, but it's still good fun. Of course, familiarity doesn't necessarily breed contempt in the world of video games. The upgrade system, too, will be familiar to genre enthusiasts. There's the one that fires area-effect mortars, the one that slows the enemy down, the one that burns through multiple units simultaneously, the one that zaps them. This approach is very Fieldrunners 2, as is the selection of towers. Stages vary between fixed-path trench runs, whereby you must position automated gun turrets along the enemy's predicted path, and freeform stages that allow you to lead the enemy a merry dance using the towers to erect makeshift mazes. Hyper-vigilant animal husbandry aside, though, we should stress that this is tower defence by the numbers. The premise sees you defending a pen full of helpless sheep from alien abduction with a futuristic arsenal more suited to protecting a city. Hmm, that crazy gene must be be buried a little deeper.Īha. Initial inspection reveals that it's both a tower defence game and a sequel. Okay, so let's cut straight to the question that really matters here.

Demon slayer screenshots8/1/2023 It’s an easy combat system to learn, but there is depth for those who want it in the form of parrying attacks and chaining combos, special moves, and assists together depending on your team composition and how much special meter you have. Swapping between team members is also possible (provided you have some assist gauge left), though health is shared between characters so you never run the risk of losing your partner, no matter how dire things look. In two-on-two battles, your other teammates can also provide assists courtesy of one of their own special moves at the cost of half of their assist gauge, or use it all to rescue their partner from getting beaten down mid-combo. These techniques strike a good balance of offering plenty of interesting options for counter-play without making The Hinokami Chronicles overwhelming to pick up at the start. Boost powers up your attacks and adds an extra combo route, while Surge gives your character unlimited meter for a short time. Each fighter can also throw, dash, perform an Ultimate Art, use heavy attacks, and activate two special power ups: Boost and Surge. You can vary things up by pressing the stick in a direction while pressing one of those buttons to either perform different specials or one of three unique combos: one that launches, one that keeps foes on the ground, and one that knocks them down. All normal attacks are mapped to one button and all special moves to another. The combat controls are simple and intuitive. It’s an arena fighter, pitting teams of two against one another in a small, 3D environment, though the story mode often features one-on-one bouts, many of which are extravagant boss fights with moves regular characters could never have. It’s here that the story mode is at its strongest, and the fighting is where The Hinokami Chronicles truly shines as a whole. There can be the occasional flash of something clever – one sequence involves finding your way out of a house that is constantly shifting around you, while a later chapter offers up some fun mini-games – but walking around a map is mostly something I tolerated rather than enjoyed.ĭeveloper CyberConnect2 seems to know this too, peppering areas with plenty of fights against a handful of nameless demons to teach you the ropes of combat before throwing you into the fun stuff: the boss fights. Each interaction is exactly the same, forcing you to monotonously repeat it four times. In one particularly egregious example, Tanjiro has to convince the people of a small city to go inside before nightfall to keep them away from a demon that has been abducting young girls. Instead it’s mostly a slow, dull process that only requires you to push the stick in a direction and listen to some pretty unnecessary dialogue. It might have been an interesting idea if the interactions or movement were entertaining themselves. As you explore, you’ll also be able to collect Memory Fragments, which are short movies that combine voiceovers and stills from the anime series, and Kimetsu Points, which can be used to unlock rewards like characters, alternate costumes, quotes, art, and songs from the soundtrack. After an introductory series of cutscenes, each chapter will have you guide Tanjiro and friends across a mostly linear series of maps as you complete quests by talking to other characters, search out clues that will lead you to where demons might be hiding, and solve small puzzles. The Hinokami Chronicles is divided into eight chapters. You can also unlock them by grinding out Versus mode fights, but doing so would take so long that it wouldn’t be worth it, which isn’t great if you’re just here for the multiplayer. That’s a shame, for two reasons: first, because Demon Slayer’s story is entertaining enough without these extra sections and second, because playing the roughly nine to 12-hour story mode is pretty much the only reasonable way to unlock every playable character for the Versus mode, which is probably where you’ll want to spend most of your time anyway. But when The Hinokami Chronicles makes you walk around and explore the Demon Slayer world between these familiar scenes, it becomes kind of a drag. Room layout8/1/2023 He had a wealth of experience as a professional dancer and danced in the Thriller West End show and World Tour. White Rhino are the specialists when it comes to face-to-face, socially distanced, hybrid and virtual team building activities, is a friendly and hard-working event management company based in Surrey. Consider the space you have available in your event space, the presentations (if any) that will be taking place, and what delegates are going to be doing throughout the event. In summary, there are a variety of options available when it comes to choosing a room layout for your next conference or meeting and which one you choose will ultimately depend on your individual event and what you are looking to achieve. Tables will be placed in rows facing the front of the conference or meeting room. Classroom Style LayoutĪ Classroom style layout is perfect for training events or meetings where delegates will be taking a lot of notes and will provide attendees with plenty of room to work whilst being able to see presentations and speakers clearly and easily.Ī classroom layout is usually created with small rectangular tables with two delegates on each one. If there won’t be any presentations during your meeting but you still want to facilitate discussion between the delegates, consider a boardroom layout. This leaves one end empty so that all of the delegates can see any presentations being made. This layout is also sometimes referred to as a ‘horseshoe’ layout and is created in the shape of a letter ‘U’ with delegates seated along two sides and one end. U Shape LayoutĪ ‘U’ shape layout is perfect for events with smaller groups where there will be plenty of discussion between the delegates and also presentations that people need to be able to see. Unlike a cabaret style where one side of the table is left empty, with a banquet style layout seats are placed around the entire table.Ī banquet layout can sometimes be referred to as ‘dinner/dance layout’ depending upon the venue. Banquet LayoutĪs the name suggests, and banquet style layout is used for dining rather than meetings or conferences and will usually be made up of a series of round tables seating between 8 and 10 guests. The shape of the table does vary from venue to venue but will typically be oval or rectangular.Īs delegates will be seated all around the table with this meeting room layout, If presentations will be taking place, a ‘U’ shape layout might be a better option. Boardroom LayoutĪ boardroom layout consists of a single table that is large enough to seat all delegates around the outside and is most suited to smaller groups where there is likely to be plenty of discussions. This is also a good layout if you are planning on running team building activities which require some form of a surface for challenges or tasks. If your event consists of long sessions and will last for an entire day (or longer) then a cabaret layout is a good choice and would provide delegates with plenty of comfort and space. A cabaret style layout is very popular where groups may be required to work together during the event.Ī cabaret style provides delegates with a solid surface to write on during presentations but does take up much more room than a theatre layout. There will typically be groups of around 6 delegates on each table and the side facing the projector screen will be left empty so that all of the delegates can see what is being displayed. With a cabaret layout, delegates are seated at large tables (usually round or square in shape). If you have a lot of people attending your event, or space in your meeting room is tight, then a theatre layout is likely to be the best option.īear in mind that this style of seating isn’t ideal if your delegates want to take lots of notes as they don’t have a surface to lean/write on, and delegates can sometimes feel ‘squashed’ if chairs are placed too close together. With theatre style seating, chairs are placed in rows just like you would see in a theatre or cinema (although they aren’t usually tiered). There are many different options available so we thought it would be useful to explain the differences, as well as when each layout style would work best. If you are planning a conference, meeting or even some indoor team building activities you will need to decide which room layout will work best and enable your delegates to get the most out of the event. Daz studio iray hdri8/1/2023 It is used just to fill a scene with a bit of illumination. Setup looks similar to the three-point lighting, just without the backlight.įront light is cold, big and white. One in front of a character pointing down at him, and another is to the side. There are a lot of ways to create a scene like this. Goal here is to make part of the scene look dark and inconspicuous, while the other part will look bright and can be seen good. This method uses lights and manual setups to create a contrasted scene that creates a feeling of a night. Last individual method that we are going to look into this article. For the purpose of the tutorial I did not do that. Also you can change highlights, blacks and contrast to make it look better. But we didn’t which can open more possibilities to use Tone Mapping for other purposes. My scene looks like this:Īs you can see, this way can be really similar looking to previous scenarios, when we used Tone Mapping. Use Dome orientation and rotation options to make lighting look good. There is a default HDRI just from get go available in the Daz Studio. Imagine that your scene is transported into place from the picture. So any source of light from the picture, be it sun or softbox, also would illuminate your render. So in the “ Environment” tab of the “ Render settings” menu set the “ Environment Mode” to “ Sun-Sky Only”. HDRI is a 360 image that contains info about the environment and its lighting. Everything we are going to change in the settings can be found in the “ Render settings” menu, about which we have an individual article – Daz3d Render Settings: Basics & Tips. Namely – we will use the Sun-Sky option from the “ Environment” tab to simulate moonlight. “Day for Night” Using Sun-Skyįirstly, for better understanding, let’s make something easy. But we will look hot to achieve night lighting effects using only Daz Studio. Of course this can even be done in post production using some third-party software. It is not really a night, we just simulate it. It works something like that: you make a normal scene with normal day-like lighting, and then use different techniques to make it look like a night. Here is where “Day for Night” comes into play. You can’t see the face, details and practically nothing important. But it is too dark and clearly a bad render. If you look closely, you can see the scene and tell that there is a man sitting. As one of the most recognizable faces in the group, Pokimane's change in commitment raises questions about the future direction of OTV. Regardless, this latest move by Pokimane marks a significant moment in her career and the dynamics of OTV. "This is definitely not the last you will see of her," a group said on Twitter. In short, everything will remain the same, albeit with less frequent appearances by the Canadian-Moroccan. The group later elaborated on what it meant to "graduate from OTV" and what Pokimane's departure meant for OTV moving forward. In true OTV fashion, the group enacted a heartwarming play for her sendoff, reenacting Pokimane's early life and journey to Twitch stardom. We're excited to see her next chapter and will be cheering for her all the way□ /Y2hLbcLqTI- OfflineTV May 19, 2023 Imane has been a pillar of OTV since it formed in 2017 and helped us become the big family we are now. Today we congratulate one of our founding members, for graduating from OfflineTV! "I feel like I'll always be a part of the OTV family," she affirmed, underlining her ongoing relationship with the collective despite her step back from full-time involvement. While Pokimane's announcement might come as a shock to many, the streamer assured fans that her bond with OTV remains strong. The Twitch star continued to highlight the struggles she faced by juggling her commitments to emphasize her point. "For me to be able to dabble in different things and continue to evolve and explore in my career and in my personal life, I've found it really hard to do that and attend all of the OTV things," Pokimane said. However, Pokimane assured fans she would remain part of the OTV family. Instead of maintaining her role as a full-time member, Pokimane explained that she plans to become part of the "and friends" category of "OfflineTV and Friends." The Twitch star said that her graduation from OTV would provide her the flexibility to explore her personal and professional life more independently. The distribution of these ions on the two sides of cellular membranes reflects the activity of cellular ATP-dependant sodium-potassium pumps, which keep intracellular sodium concentrations low and potassium concentrations high. In the graph above, notice that sodium and potassium ion concentrations in ECF and ICF are nearly opposite. It’s most abundant cation is potassium, and its major anion is hydrogen phosphate. In contrast to extracellular fluid, intracellular fluid contains only small amounts of sodium and chloride. However, plasma contains fewer chloride molecules than interstitial fluid, because non-penetrating protein molecules are usually anions and plasma is electrically neutral. The chief cation is sodium and the major anion is chloride. Beside the relatively high protein content in plasma, the extracellular fluids are very similar. If you look at the bar graph above you can see that each fluid compartment has a distinctive pattern of electrolytes. We could do the same thing for calcium: Ca2+ = 100 mg/L divided by 40 mg/mmol X 2 = 5 mEq/L.Ĭomparison of Extracellular and Intracellular Fluids For instance to calculate the mEq/L of sodium we would determine the normal concentration of the ion in plasma, look up its atomic weight in the periodic table and plug the values into the equation: Na+ (sodium) = 3300 mg/L divided by 23 mg/mmol X 1 = 143 mEq/L. We can compute the concentration of any solution using the following equation: mEq/L = ion concentration (mg/L) divided by the atomic weight of the ion (mg/mmol) X the number of electrical charges on the ion. For this reason, electrolytes have the greatest ability to cause fluid shifts.Įlectrolyte concentrations of body fluids are usually expressed in milliequivalents per liter (mEq/L), a measure of the number of electrical charges in one liter of solution. Regardless of the type of solute particle, water always moves according to osmotic gradients - from an area of lesser osmolarity to an area of greater osmolarity. For instance, a molecule of sodium chloride (NaCl) contributes twice as many solute particles as glucose, and a molecule of magnesium chloride (MgCl2) contributes three times as many. Since ions are charged particles, they can conduct an electrical current - that’s why they’re called electrolytes! For the most part, electrolytes include organic salts, some proteins, and both organic and inorganic acids and bases.Įlectrolytes have much greater osmotic power than nonelectrolytes because each electrolyte molecule disassociates into at least two ions. In contrast, electrolytes are chemical compounds that do disassociate into ions in water. Most nonelectrolytes are organic molecules - lipids, glucose, urea, creatinine, for example. Because of this, no electrically charged species are created when nonelectrolytes dissolve in water. Nonelectrolytes have bonds (usually covalent bonds) that prevent them from disassociating in a solution. It has been known that human plasma has a significantly longer shelf life than blood which is why it can be more sought after for those that need it as part of their treatment. In the image above, the ECF compartment is divisible in two compartments: (1) Plasma, the fluid portion of blood ( you may need to use this equipment to extract it from the other blood componants in a laboratory), and (2) interstitial fluid (IF), the fluid in the spaces between tissue cells. The ECF is the body’s internal environment and the cells external environment.Įxchange of gases, nutrients, water, and wastes between the three fluid compartments of the body. The remaining one-third of body water is outside cells, in the extracellular fluid compartment (ECF). The intracellular fluid is the fluid within the cells of the body. About two-thirds is in the intracellular fluid compartment (ICF). There are two main fluid compartments water occupies in the body. So, the more muscles one has, the higher the total body water % will be. In contrast, skeletal muscle contains 75% water. Adipose (fat) tissue is the least hydrated tissue in the body (20% hydrated), even bone contains more water than fat. This is because women typically have less skeletal muscle and more fat than males. The average young man is around 60% water, while a healthy young woman is about 50%. Total body water declines after infancy, and by the team one reaches old age, total body water is only about 45%. Infants, with their low bone mass and low body fat, are 73% water! Due to the high concentration of water, an infants skin appears “dewy” and soft. Factors which determine the overall water weight of a human being include sex, age, mass and body fat percentage.
